The
2009 NHL Draft
The NHL held its 2009
annual amateur entry draft on June 26th and 27th. The Minnesota Wild
chose former Minnesota “Elite Classic” standout Nick Leddy
of Eden Prairie with their selection in the first round, making him
the first American chosen in the draft. In all, twelve Minnesotans were
chosen this year. Seven of those selected are former “Elite Classic“ players.
